Two in three of our double-deckers cost between KSh 35,000 and KSh 55,000.
Double-decker bed prices in Kenya by type (2026)
| Type | Starting price | Typical price | Top of the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard double-deckers (ladder) | KSh 18,000 | KSh 35,000 | KSh 40,000 |
| Double-deckers with stairs & storage | KSh 23,000 | KSh 45,000 | KSh 69,000 |
| Triple & quadruple-deckers | KSh 38,000 | KSh 60,000 | KSh 70,000 |
Prices from our current range as of October 2026, including current offer prices. “Typical” is the middle price in each group. Prices exclude mattresses. Every bed is made to order, and the final price depends on the size, extras and finish you choose.
How size and extras change the price
Many of our double-deckers come in different sizes, with optional drawers or a pull-out trundle bed. Here’s how the price changes, using our Naley Double-decker Bed as an example:
| Size (top over bottom) | Bed only | With under-bed drawers | With pull-out trundle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twin over Twin (3×6 over 3×6) | KSh 28,000 | KSh 32,000 | KSh 35,000 |
| Twin over Full (3×6 over 4×6) | KSh 35,000 | KSh 37,000 | KSh 39,000 |
| Full over Full (4×6 over 4×6) | KSh 39,000 | KSh 42,000 | KSh 45,000 |
A Twin over Full is popular with families: two children can share the wider bottom bed, or an adult can sleep there. A trundle adds a third sleeping space that slides under the bed, which is great for sleepovers and visiting cousins.
Which type of double-decker is right for you?
- Standard double-decker: a ladder on the side or end, and the lowest price. Best for older children and small rooms. Most can be split into two single beds later. Browse standard double-deckers.
- Double-decker with stairs and storage: wide steps instead of a ladder, with drawers built into each step. Safer and easier for younger children to climb, and the drawers can replace a small wardrobe or chest of drawers. Browse double-deckers with stairs.
- Triple or quadruple-decker: three or four beds in the floor space of one. Best for large families, boarding houses, staff quarters and holiday homes. Browse triple and quadruple-deckers.
Safety and room checklist
- Ceiling height: the child on top needs room to sit up. As a guide, leave at least 75 cm (2.5 ft) between the top mattress and the ceiling.
- Guard rails: every one of our double-deckers has safety rails on the top bunk as standard.
- Age: most safety advice says the top bunk is for children aged 6 and above. If you have younger children, choose a design with stairs.
- Mattress thickness: use a thinner mattress on the top bunk (around 6 inches) so the guard rail stays well above it.
- Strong frame: a hardwood frame won’t shake or creak when children climb. Very cheap double-deckers often save money on the timber, and it shows quickly.
What affects the price of a double-decker?
- Size. 4×6 beds cost more than 3×6 beds, and a Full over Full costs more than a Twin over Twin.
- Stairs and storage. Built-in stairs with drawers add timber and labour, but can save you buying a separate wardrobe or chest of drawers.
- Extras. Under-bed drawers, a pull-out trundle, bookshelves and desks add to the price.
- Number of beds. Triple and quadruple-deckers need a taller, stronger frame.
- Finish. Natural wood, stain and painted colours like white or grey are priced differently.
