Shopping for a bed in Nairobi and not sure what you should be paying? This guide uses real 2026 prices from our workshop in Lower Kabete, across more than 120 bed designs, so you know what to expect for each size and style before you start comparing.
Quick answer: at Sikam Furniture, a new bed frame costs from about KSh 13,500 for a simple 4×6 bed, KSh 20,000–70,000 for a queen size bed, and KSh 28,000 upwards for a king size bed. Most of our beds cost between KSh 22,000 and KSh 40,000. Prices are for the bed frame and headboard. The mattress is extra.

Prices from our current range as of October 2026. “Typical” is the middle price in each size. Bed frame and headboard only, mattress not included.
You might notice that a 4×6 bed can cost less than a single bed. That’s because our 4×6 range includes simple, budget-friendly designs, while our single beds are full wooden designs with a proper headboard. If you’re furnishing a guest room or a first home on a budget, our affordable 4×6 beds are the place to start.
Bed sizes in Kenya: which one fits your room?
| Size | Feet | Approx. cm | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | 3 x 6 ft | 90 x 190 cm | Children, teenagers, small guest rooms |
| 4×6 (“three-quarter”) | 4 x 6 ft | 120 x 190 cm | One adult, bedsitters, small rooms |
| Queen | 5 x 6 ft | 150 x 190 cm | Couples, most master bedrooms |
| King | 6 x 6 ft | 180 x 190 cm | Couples who want more space, large master bedrooms |
A simple rule: leave at least 60 cm (about 2 ft) of walking space on both sides of the bed and at the foot. For a queen bed, that means a room of roughly 10 x 10 ft or bigger. For a king, 11 x 11 ft or bigger. If you’re not sure, send us your room measurements on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you what fits.
What affects the price of a bed?
- Size. A bigger bed uses more timber, foam and fabric. In our range, a typical queen bed costs about KSh 15,000 more than a typical 4×6.
- Headboard design. This is the biggest price driver. A plain panel headboard is affordable. A tall, tufted or wing-back headboard with gold trim takes much more fabric and labour.
- Material. Fabric (upholstered) beds and wooden beds overlap a lot in price. Solid mahogany and carved designs sit at the top of the wooden range.
- Storage. Drawers, lift-up storage or built-in bedside tables add to the cost but save you buying separate furniture.
- Extras. LED lighting, smart features or a matching bench at the foot of the bed push the price up.
Fabric beds vs wooden beds: price compared
| Size | Fabric beds (typical) | Wooden beds (typical) |
|---|---|---|
| 4×6 | KSh 24,000 | KSh 21,000 |
| Queen | KSh 40,000 | KSh 38,000 |
| King | KSh 40,000 | KSh 35,000 |
Fabric beds have a padded, upholstered headboard and frame in velvet, linen-look or suede-feel fabric. They feel soft and look luxurious, and you can pick almost any colour. Browse our fabric beds.
Wooden beds are solid hardwood or mahogany with no fabric. They’re very durable, easy to clean and suit a classic or natural look. Browse our wooden beds.

Don’t forget the mattress
Bed prices in Kenya are usually quoted without a mattress, and ours are too. When you plan your budget, add the cost of a good mattress in the right size. Make sure you buy a mattress that matches your bed exactly (for example, a 5×6 mattress for a queen bed), so it doesn’t slide around or hang over the edge.
Paying for your bed
All our beds are made to order and ready in 7 to 14 business days. You can pay with M-Pesa and spread the cost over up to 4 months. For example, a KSh 40,000 queen bed works out to KSh 10,000 a month. We deliver and set up across Nairobi, free on orders above KSh 50,000 (smaller orders pay about KSh 2,000), and deliver outside Nairobi at an extra fee. See our delivery FAQ for details.
