Planning to buy a sofa in Nairobi and wondering what a fair price is? This guide uses real 2026 prices from our workshop in Lower Kabete, across about 100 sofa designs, so you know what to budget for each size and style before you start comparing.
Quick answer: at Sikam Furniture, a new 3-seater sofa costs from about KSh 24,000, a 5-seater sofa set from about KSh 60,000, and a 7-seater set from about KSh 75,000. Corner and sectional sofas start at about KSh 40,000. Across our whole range, a typical sofa costs around KSh 53,000, and three in four of our sofas cost between KSh 30,000 and KSh 70,000.

Prices from our current range as of October 2026. “Typical” is the middle price in each group. All sofas are made to order, and the final price depends on the size, fabric and design you choose.
How the number of seats changes the price
Most of our classic sofa sets come in several sizes, so you can buy just a 3-seater now or the full set for your sitting room. Here’s how the price grows with each extra seat, using our Helma Classic Fabric Sofa Set as an example:

Notice that two single seats cost more than one 2-seater. Each separate piece needs its own frame and arms, so a 3+2 layout is the better value if you want five seats. Choose 3+1+1 if you like armchairs that you can move around the room.
Which sofa type is right for your room?
- 3-seater sofa: best for bedsitters, one-bedroom apartments and small sitting rooms. Add an accent chair later if you need more seats. Browse modern sofas.
- L-shape sofa: fits neatly against two walls and works well facing a TV. Good for medium rooms where you want 5 to 6 seats without separate pieces. Browse L-shape sofas.

Before you order, measure the wall where the sofa will go and leave at least 75 cm (about 2.5 ft) of walking space in front of it. Also check the width of your door and staircase. If you’re not sure what fits, send us your room measurements on WhatsApp and we’ll suggest a size.
What affects the price of a sofa?
- Number of seats and pieces. More seats means more timber, foam and fabric. Separate single seats cost more per seat than one long sofa.
- Design. Tufted (buttoned) backs, chesterfield arms, curved shapes and tall backs take more labour than a simple, straight design.
- Fabric. Velvet, leather-look and premium fabrics cost more than standard fabrics. You can choose almost any colour.
- Foam and frame. High-density foam keeps its shape for years, and a hardwood frame won’t sag or creak. Very cheap sofas usually save money here, and it shows within a year or two.
- Features. Recliners, storage and built-in extras push the price up.

Paying for your sofa
All our sofas are made to order in our Lower Kabete workshop and are ready in 7 to 14 working days. You can pay a 50% deposit and the balance when it’s ready, or spread the cost over up to 4 months with M-Pesa. For example, a KSh 60,000 5-seater set works out to KSh 15,000 a month.
